E-Commerce: Blessing And A Curse?

Hi There

Firstly I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has been supporting my online business. It can be tough juggling married life, an energetic 4 year old, a full time job and running Far Out Style whenever I can squeeze it in.

What I strive to do in my online store is source beautiful pieces of clothing, clothing I would (and have) wear myself at the most affordable price. And in order for me to do that I need to source some items from overseas suppliers.

The great thing about it is I don't have to buy all my stock up front. My household doesn't have a lot of money tucked away (even though we try to save as much as we can) so being able to this means I can stay in business. I can source items I like from all over the world and when an order comes in, it goes directly to the supplier who send it off to you - the customer. You get the item you want at a low price, the supplier gets paid and I make just a little bit to keep the store going.

The bad thing is the incredibly long shipping times. Suppliers say it can take up to 15 business days for the item to be shipped and that's on top of the processing time (which can be up to 5-7 days) before the item gets shipped. Also some suppliers aren't as transparent as you'd like.

But that's the way business is done nowadays in this inter-connected world. E-Commerce is something no entrepreneur can ignore.

So in advance I want to apologize to any past, present and future customers if you get frustrated with the length of time it takes to get your items from my store. I've been in your shoes and it gets very frustrating.

But if you persevere with me and hold on just that little but longer, I promise you, you'll get your item as quickly as possible.

Until next time.

Stay Beautiful!

Lesly XOXO
